Fatal construction incident in Beacon
A tragic construction accident occurred on Fishkill Avenue in Beacon, resulting in the death of a Goshen man named Amalio Lombardi, who was 61 years old. Lombardi was working at the site when he was struck by an excavator. Emergency services responded to the scene, but unfortunately, Lombardi was pronounced dead. The incident took place during an infrastructure improvement project in Beacon, and city police are continuing their investigation. As a tribute to Lombardi, Mayor Lee Kyriacou has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff for the week.
