Fatal construction incident at new Clearwater Publix identifies workers

Authorities in Clearwater, Florida have now identified the two construction workers involved in an accident at the construction site of a new Publix store. Sadly, Victor Hugo Martinez Gelves, 38, of Davenport, passed away at Morton Plant Hospital shortly after the incident. Meanwhile, Gustavo Esmir Linarez Castillo, 43, of Orlando, was hospitalized at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital for injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening. The accident occurred when a scissor lift collapsed at the South Missouri Avenue site. Local officials and first responders were quick to the scene following the incident.
