Fatal collision on Dan Ryan Expressway from object through windshield
A tragic incident occurred on the Dan Ryan Expressway where a driver lost their life after an unidentified object pierced through their windshield. The event resulted in the closure of outbound express lanes for several hours during the morning rush on Monday. Despite efforts to identify the object, authorities have not yet determined its nature. The driver, identified as a 45-year-old man, was initially injured and transported to a hospital but unfortunately passed away later. The outbound express lanes were completely shut down following the incident until they reopened just after 8:30 a.m. Inquiries on this accident have been directed to Illinois State Police by CBS News Chicago.
