Fatal collision on College Highway claims life of Southampton resident
A man passed away after a car accident on College Highway in Southampton, as reported by the Southampton Fire Department. The incident occurred at around 3:28 p.m. on Friday near Cumberland Farms, with the Easthampton Fire Department providing assistance. Three individuals sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals. Unfortunately, one of the victims, identified as 74-year-old Michael R. Laliberte of Southampton, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the others are expected to recover. College Highway was temporarily closed for investigation, spanning between Gunn Road and Dunkin', but reopened later that Friday evening. Authorities from the Southampton Police Department and Massachusetts State Police are currently looking into the crash's cause.
