Fatal collision near Badlands leaves 5 dead
Five people were tragically killed in a single car accident that occurred late Wednesday night near Scenic, SD. The crash, which took place just west of Badlands National Park, was reported by the Department of Public Safety. The driver of a 2004 Honda Pilot lost control while traveling eastbound on SD Highway 44, resulting in the vehicle crashing into a concrete barrier and catching fire. All five occupants, including the driver, perished at the scene. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed as authorities are in the process of notifying their families.
