Fatal collision involving electric bike and pickup in Southwest Arlington led to 21-year-old's death

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has officially identified 21-year-old Tariq Muhammad as the individual who passed away in a collision between an electric bike and a pickup truck on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred on Oct. 26, just before 5 p.m. in the 2400 block of SW Green Oaks Blvd., located in the Southwest Arlington area. According to reports, Muhammad was riding the electric bike and was transported to a hospital following the crash, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. Analyses indicate that the pickup truck driver, who was exiting a parking lot to turn westbound onto SW Green Oaks Blvd., was not at fault as the bicycle rider collided with the vehicle, causing Muhammad to be thrown from the bike. Fortunately, the driver of the pickup promptly stopped at the scene, cooperated with authorities, and is not expected to face any criminal charges. The driver was not engaging in speeding, was not under the influence of alcohol, and did not sustain any injuries in the collision.
