Fatal collision involving child reopens lanes on FM 812 in southeast Travis County
Tragedy struck on Friday in southeast Travis County when a child lost their life in a collision between two vehicles that left one overturned. The incident occurred on Farm to Market Road 812 near U.S. Highway 183 at approximately 1:25 p.m. Emergency services reported that three adults sustained injuries, but their lives were not in danger. The Texas Department of Transportation later confirmed that both directions on FM 812 were closed due to the accident. Additionally, two lanes on U.S. 183 northbound were blocked, but one lane had been cleared. The road closures lasted until approximately 3:52 p.m. when all lanes were reopened.
