Fatal collision in Winter Haven involves ambulance from Polk County Fire Rescue
A Polk County Fire Rescue (PCFR) ambulance responding to an emergency call was involved in a three-vehicle crash in Winter Haven. The incident, which occurred on Spirit Lake Road at around 10 a.m., resulted in one fatality. The driver of the second vehicle passed away, whereas the driver of the third vehicle was unharmed. The two PCFR crew members in the ambulance were taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released. Following the crash, Spirit Lake Road was temporarily closed but has since reopened. PCFR's Special Operations unit assisted the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in removing the victim from the vehicle.
