Fatal collision in Merced County claims lives of man and woman
Authorities have identified the two individuals who tragically lost their lives in a car crash in Merced County. The California Highway Patrol has named the victims as Alexander Jackson, 29, from San Jose, and Susana Esquivel, 28, from Atwater. The incident occurred late on Sunday when a 2019 Toyota Camry driven by Esquivel crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 59, colliding with the northbound vehicle driven by Jackson, a 2016 Toyota Camry. The crash resulted in the death of both individuals, who were declared deceased at the scene. The CHP investigation is still ongoing.
