Fatal collision in Hill County Tuesday night
One individual lost their life in a collision that occurred in Hill County on Tuesday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Sergeant Ryan Howard of Texas DPS stated that at approximately 6:35 p.m., DPS Troopers attended to a tragic incident on FM-933 close to the junction with FM-1713, situated north of Whitney. After an initial inquiry, it was discovered that a Toyota RAV 4, heading north on FM-933, veered across the central dividing line and collided with a GMC Sierra going southbound, resulting in the Toyota overturning. Both drivers were transported to nearby medical facilities. Regrettably, Eugene Aleshire, a resident of Whitney aged 84 and the driver of the Toyota RAV 4, was pronounced deceased. Family members have been informed, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
