Fatal collision claims life of passenger
A tragic accident occurred on LA. 719 near Ridge Road in Lafayette Parish on April 4, resulting in the loss of Charlene Martin, 59, from Slidell. The incident involved two vehicles, with Katie Owens from Slidell driving one of them and failing to yield to the other vehicle traveling in the opposite direction as she attempted a left turn onto Ridge Road, authorities reported. Charlene Martin, who was a passenger in Owens' vehicle, sadly passed away at the scene. Owens and the other driver sustained moderate injuries. Both drivers underwent toxicology testing as part of the ongoing investigation into the crash.
