Fatal collision between van and train in LeClaire
An elderly man from Davenport tragically passed away following a collision between a Dodge Ram van and a railroad car in LeClaire this morning. The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 6 at around 8:57 a.m. in the 2300 block of S. Cody Road. The Scott County Sheriff's Office responded to the motor vehicle crash, which involved the van driving south on Canal Shore Drive SW and colliding with a train traveling west. The deceased individual was the sole occupant of the van. The investigation is ongoing, with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team leading the inquiry. Multiple agencies, including Scott County Medic EMS, LeClaire Police Department, and LeClaire Fire Department, provided support at the accident site.
