Fatal collision between minivan and motorcycle in Charlton
Tragic news from Charlton as a motorcyclist lost their life in a collision involving a minivan and a motorcycle on Tuesday afternoon. Responding to multiple reports of a crash near the Worcester Road and H. Putnam Road Extension intersection around 5:00 p.m., Charlton police and firefighters discovered a serious accident between a 2022 Kia Carnival minivan and a 2025 Kawasaki ZR900 motorcycle. Initial findings suggest that the minivan was headed west on Route 20 before turning onto H. Putnam Road Extension, colliding with the eastbound motorcycle. The rider sustained injuries and was transported to UMass-Memorial University Campus, where they unfortunately passed away. The minivan driver was unharmed and cooperated with authorities at the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Charlton Police Department, Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police Detectives working with the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
