Fatal collision between child and TRE train in Fort Worth
Tragically, a child lost their life and an adult was hurt in an incident when a Trinity Railway Express train collided with their vehicle on Wednesday in Fort Worth. The crash occurred at approximately 3 p.m. near Elliot Reeder Road and Colony Court. Reports indicate that the driver of the car tried to drive around the active train barricade and was hit by the approaching TRE train. Sadly, a juvenile in the car was pronounced dead at the scene while an adult was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Due to the accident and ongoing investigation, Dallas Area Rapid Transit officials have announced delays in TRE service in the affected area. To assist passengers, a bus shuttle service has been arranged to transport individuals between the Trinity Lakes and Fort Worth Central Stations during the train suspension. Details about the severity of the adult’s injuries remain unclear at this time, and there is no specified duration for the service disruption.
