The incident took place in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, at the 7500 block of S. Vincennes Avenue, as reported by the Chicago Police Department. The driver of a gray Buick sedan, a 37-year-old woman, was heading westbound when attempting a left turn southbound and failed to yield at the intersection. This resulted in a collision with a black Dodge traveling eastbound, containing five occupants - a 15-year-old girl, an 18-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman, and the 26-year-old male driver. Tragically, the 18-year-old woman and the 20-year-old man, identified as Matthew Cuadra, 20, and April M. Valencia, 18, both from Lansing, Illinois, succumbed to their injuries at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
