Fatal car crash near Salem leaves 2 dead, 2 hospitalized
Early Sunday morning in Turner, a tragic single-car crash claimed the lives of two individuals, as reported by the Marion County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred on Turner Road SE, just south of Crawford Street SE, around 2:30 a.m. According to MCSO, a black Kia veered off the road and flipped into a ditch. Unfortunately, a 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman, Perla Nieto of Silverton, lost their lives in the crash. A 24-year-old man was rescued from the vehicle and rushed to Salem Hospital in critical condition. An 8-year-old child was also hospitalized with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
