Fatal car crash near Muscatine leads to one casualty
A fatal two-car collision occurred near Muscatine yesterday, resulting in one individual deceased and another hospitalized at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the crash at around 7:13 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, at the 2300 block of Burlington Road. The scene involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Chevrolet Caprice, with only the drivers in the vehicles. One person was declared deceased, and the other was extracted and transported via MedForce helicopter to the hospital. The identities of the drivers are being withheld until their families are notified. Multiple agencies, including the Iowa State Patrol and local fire and medical departments, collaborated in responding to the incident. The crash investigation is currently underway.
