Fatal Car Crash Near Midway
A fatal car accident occurred near Chicago's Midway Airport on Thursday morning, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to at least five others. The incident took place at the intersection of West 55th Street and Central Avenue around 3:30 a.m. The collision involved a Ford Fusion and a Hyundai Palisade traveling in opposite directions. The 28-year-old male driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the hospital, while a 31-year-old female passenger from the same car is in critical condition. The 29-year-old male driver of the Hyundai is in fair condition, along with a 32-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl who were passengers in that vehicle. The status of a 20-year-old woman also in the Hyundai is currently unknown. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash.
