A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday involving a woman who was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Rancho Mission Viejo and was fatally struck by a vehicle in Laguna Beach after exiting her vehicle, as per police reports. The fatal collision took place just after 7 p.m. on El Toro Road near the 73 Toll Road overpass, with authorities from the Laguna Beach Police Department responding to the scene. Emergency responders assisted a 46-year-old woman who was then taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, where she was sadly pronounced dead. While her identity has not been disclosed at this time, authorities believe that the woman was driving a U-Haul truck involved in a hit-and-run earlier that day in Rancho Mission Viejo. It is reported that the other driver followed her and parked the truck on El Toro Road, obstructing the outbound lane. The woman exited the truck and was walking towards the road when tragedy struck, and she was hit by a passing vehicle. The driver involved in this collision stayed on-site and cooperated with the officials. There are no indications that drugs or alcohol were involved in this devastating accident.
