Fatal car crash in Punaluu leaves 2 dead and 2 critically injured
Authorities in Punaluu, Hawaii are currently investigating a tragic multiple-vehicle collision that occurred on June 17th. The incident involved a 28-year-old woman driving south on Kamehameha Highway with three passengers, two aged 19 and one also 28 years old. The car crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a 17-year-old female driver. Emergency services responded, rescued the trapped occupants, and the 28-year-old driver and one of the 19-year-old passengers sadly lost their lives. The other passengers were critically injured. The 17-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. Shockingly, none of the passengers were wearing seat belts during the crash. This incident represents the 35th and 36th traffic fatalities on Oahu in 2025, a significant increase compared to the same period last year.
