Fatal car crash in Oneida County results in one fatality
A fatal single-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 12 in Deerfield on Saturday evening, resulting in the death of one person. State Police were alerted to the incident at the Trenton Road overpass around 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the victim inside the vehicle, which had caught fire after veering off the road, crossing the median, and colliding with a bridge post. The deceased individual's identity is being withheld pending family notification. The investigation is still in progress, and the road closure put in place for investigative efforts has now been lifted.
