Four individuals lost their lives in a tragic car accident that occurred in Mercer County last week. The incident, responded to by Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Mercer on Friday, October 10th, took place in Lackawannock Township. Details provided by the authorities reveal that a 21-year-old man was operating a Chevrolet Corvette at high speed on Mercer West Middlesex Road, heading east towards Orchard Road. At the same time, a 76-year-old man was driving a Toyota Tacoma westbound on Mercer West Middlesex Road and attempted a left turn onto Orchard Road. Regrettably, the Corvette collided head-on with the Tacoma during the turn, causing the Corvette to flip in the air and come to a stop on its wheels on the south side of the road. The Tacoma ended up on the north side shoulder of the road. Tragically, the Corvette caught fire after the crash, resulting in the death of both the driver and a 19-year-old passenger. The driver of the Tacoma succumbed to injuries after being taken for medical treatment, while the 76-year-old female passenger of the Tacoma, after being airlifted to the hospital for treatment, also passed away.
