Fatal car crash claims lives of Wichita Falls residents in Cotton County

Two individuals from Wichita Falls tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Cotton County. The incident took place at 10:30 am on August 23 along Interstate 44, about 9 miles south of Walters, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety reported that the vehicle was traveling northbound in the right lane when, for unknown reasons, it veered off onto the grass, then back onto the road's shoulder, back to the grass, and ultimately collided with the end of a guardrail. The driver, pinned for 30 minutes, and the passenger, pinned for 45 minutes, were both found deceased by authorities upon arrival. Identified as 62-year-old Sheryl Ryan and 60-year-old Kenneth Ryan, the victims were eventually freed using the Hurst Tool. Their next of kin has been informed, and an investigation into the tragedy is ongoing.
