Fatal car chase in Upstate results in one death, according to troopers
In an update from Sunday, the victim of the crash has been identified as 22-year-old Aaliyah Shyann Sisk by Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler. The incident occurred as Sisk was riding in the front seat of a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe being pursued by police. The collision took place at the intersection of Dravo Road Extension at 2:50 a.m., resulting in Sisk’s tragic death from head injuries upon impact. Further investigation including an autopsy will be conducted by the coroner. The chase originated in North Carolina and ended in South Carolina, with details provided by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office in a Facebook post. The driver of the vehicle, Garry Tyrone Martin, was later caught and will face various charges in North Carolina, while charges related to the crash will also be pursued by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
