According to officials, the crash resulted in the deaths of a man and a young girl, with four others sustaining injuries. The Philippine Red Cross and local authorities responded to the scene. There were conflicting reports about the age of the girl who tragically lost her life, as the Red Cross stated she was four years old while Secretary of Transportation Vivencio Hizon mentioned she was five years old. The airport's operator, New NAIA Infra Co., emphasized the importance of waiting for verified updates rather than speculating in light of the circulating social media images of the incident. Initial investigations indicate that the SUV, initially parked near the terminal entrance, was involved in the crash after the driver allegedly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brakes following a sudden cross of another vehicle. The driver was apprehended by police, and their license has been suspended by the Land Transportation Office for the investigation period. Emergency responders attended to the injured individuals at the scene, and the damaged vehicle was later removed. The airport operator is cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation.
