
Fatal bus crash in Los Angeles on Mother's Day injuries 32, claims 1 life
A driver in Los Angeles tragically lost their life on Mother's Day after their SUV broke down on a busy highway and was struck by a tour bus, according to authorities. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is currently investigating the incident, which resulted in one fatality and 32 people being hospitalized early Sunday morning. The collision occurred around 5 a.m. on Highway 60 West when a Nissan Pathfinder stalled for unknown reasons, causing the tour bus to collide with it. The SUV caught fire upon impact, trapping the driver inside, as reported by a CHP spokesperson. The tour bus, traveling from the Morongo Casino to Koreatown, sustained severe damage from the crash. Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with passengers thrown from their seats and pleading for help. The freeway closures between Azusa Avenue and Hacienda Boulevard following the incident have been partially lifted, although the investigation continues. The identity of the SUV driver is being withheld until their next of kin is notified.
