A tragic boating accident occurred in Columbia County on July 4, resulting in the loss of a 21-year-old man's life. According to the New York State Police, the incident occurred on Queechy Lake in Canaan. Responding to the scene at around 12:40 a.m., authorities discovered a 16-foot Stratus bass boat had collided with the shoreline. The boat, occupied by three individuals, crashed into the shore, causing the 21-year-old to be ejected. He was rushed to Albany Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
