Fatal bicycle accident at Edmond intersection, authorities report
Authorities in Edmond reported that a bicyclist passed away following a collision with a vehicle at an intersection on Tuesday morning. The incident took place at the intersection of Broadway and Covell. Emily Ward from the Edmond Police Department stated that a preliminary investigation revealed the bicyclist was struck by a car while crossing Covell at the crosswalk as the vehicle attempted to turn southbound. The bicyclist, identified as 75-year-old Charles Rempel from Edmond, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the location and participated in the investigation, and authorities indicated that the driver will not face arrest.
