Fatal Aurora motorcycle accident prompts Arapahoe Road closure: authorities
Two individuals tragically lost their lives following a motorcycle accident in Aurora on Friday, resulting in the closure of a road. The Aurora Police Department disclosed to FOX31 that the deceased pair were both riding on the same motorcycle. Authorities shut down East Arapahoe Road in both directions at East Peakview Drive, a short distance west of E-470 in the eastern part of Aurora. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes, with Smoky Hill Road being suggested as an option, as the investigation is anticipated to continue for several more hours as of approximately 5:30 p.m. The collision, involving a motorcycle and a car, resulted in the male and female motorcycle riders being declared dead upon police arrival, while the sole occupant of the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital.
