Fatal Amtrak collision: Train from San Antonio collides with vehicle near Taylor.
A tragic incident occurred when an Amtrak train bound for Chicago collided with a vehicle in Williamson County, south of Taylor. Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle involved did not survive the accident. The collision took place at an unprotected crossing leading to private property, where a Toyota 4Runner was struck by the train. The train was carrying 71 passengers and nine crew members, but thankfully, no injuries were reported among them. The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the crash, and no additional details are currently known.
