Fatal accident: Vehicle flips and plunges into water
A tragic incident occurred when Trevor Lee Nelson, a 43-year-old man from Wisdom, lost his life after his Humvee overturned into a pond along Lower North Fork Road in Beaverhead County. The accident took place on Sunday, September 21, 2025, as Nelson was making a left-hand turn in his vehicle. Authorities discovered the submerged car with only its tires visible above the water, prompting a rescue effort. Despite a possible escape attempt evidenced by a deputy finding the driver's side door open, Nelson was found trapped and deceased at the scene. An investigation into the accident, led by the Montana Highway Patrol, revealed that Nelson was not wearing a seatbelt, and there is no suspicion of impaired driving being a contributing factor.
