Fatal accident takes the lives of 2 LA Tech students
Tragic news out of Ruston, Louisiana, as Louisiana Tech University officials confirmed the tragic passing of two international students due to a vehicle accident on July 14, 2025. Two other students were also injured in the crash. Dr. Henderson stated that counseling services will be available to help students through this challenging time. The incident occurred on July 13, 2025, just before 9:00 PM, when Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 80 near Louisiana Highway 507. The crash took the lives of two students from Nepal, Rajan Yadav, 22, and Rojin Oli, 20. Initial findings indicate that the vehicle, a 2010 Honda Accord driven by Yadav, veered off the road during a rainstorm, hit a tree, and caught fire. Unfortunately, Yadav and Oli did not survive, while the use of restraints is still unclear. Two other passengers were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Investigators are currently looking into the incident, including analyzing toxicology samples.
