Fatal accident shuts down section of US 31 in Hamilton County
Early Thursday morning, a fatal accident caused the closure of a section of US 31 in Hamilton County. The Indiana Department of Transportation reported that the crash occurred on US 31 southbound near 256th Street, just a few miles north of Westfield. As a result, all southbound lanes were blocked off and the left lane on the northbound side was also closed. The incident, which involved a fatality, is currently being investigated. Southbound drivers were rerouted to Indiana 28 during the closure.
