Fatal accident on Stevenson Expressway involving ATV driver.
Tragically, a fatal accident occurred on the Stevenson Expressway early Saturday morning involving an ATV. Illinois State Police reported that the incident took place prior to 5 a.m. when troopers were alerted to an ATV traveling southbound near Route 30 on I-55. After locating the ATV operator, they observed the ATV driving in the wrong direction, heading northbound in the southbound lanes. Despite attempts by troopers to stop the operator safely, the ATV was involved in a collision with a car on I-55 southbound north of Black Road, resulting in the death of the ATV driver.
