UPDATE: August 31 at 8 p.m. One individual has tragically lost their life in a single-vehicle accident on I-75 northbound in Georgetown on Sunday. The Scott County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded to the incident near Lemons Mill Road at approximately 5:17 p.m. that day, with the crash likely being a result of speeding. Upon arrival at 5:23 p.m., crews discovered the driver had passed away, as confirmed by the Scott County coroner. The victim's identity remains unidentified. The vehicle is believed to have veered to the right, collided with a rock embankment, overturned, and slid into a guardrail, as shared by Scott County Sheriff's Deputies. No alcohol was found during the initial investigation.
