Fatal Accident on Illinois Route 29
A 30-year-old woman died in Peoria, Illinois, after a nearly head-on crash on Illinois Route 29 early Friday morning. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood confirmed her death at 8:15 a.m. following the collision between her car and a mid-sized truck. The woman was traveling north on Route 29 when the accident occurred around 6:53 a.m. near Gardner Lane. The other driver, transported to OSF Saint Francis HealthCare Medical Center, was reported to be in stable condition. The Illinois State Police are investigating the incident.
