Fatal accident on I-95 in Prince George County

In Prince George County, Virginia, a tragic accident occurred on Interstate 95 resulting in the death of a driver whose vehicle caught fire after being struck by a box truck on Tuesday morning. Emergency crews responded to the scene near Tavern Road where the crash occurred. The box truck was traveling south on I-95 when it crossed into northbound lanes, colliding with a vehicle containing one occupant. The impact caused the box truck to overturn and spill fuel, leading to a fire in the vehicle it hit. Sadly, the driver of that vehicle did not survive. There were no other reported injuries. Emergency teams managed to extinguish the fire and clean up the fuel spill. As of Tuesday morning, northbound lanes of I-95 near I-295 in Prince George County were shut down, and drivers were urged to seek alternative routes. Various local authorities, including Prince George Fire/EMS, Police, Virginia State Police, and VDOT crews, remained on the scene to manage the situation.
