Fatal accident on I-69 in Hamilton County
A tragic collision occurred in Hamilton County, Indiana, resulting in a fatality and the closure of Interstate 69 near Noblesville in both directions early Wednesday morning. Indiana State Police reported that the incident took place around 3 a.m. on a stretch of I-69 between Olio Road and Cyntheanne Road. The crash involved a minivan colliding with a heavy-duty pickup truck carrying oxygen tanks, causing a fire that consumed both vehicles. The Fishers Police Department noted that the tanks exploded during the accident. The closure extended between mile markers 210 and 214, with the Indiana Department of Transportation confirming the loss of one individual. Indiana State Police announced that the highway would remain shut down for an extended period to facilitate cleanup and investigations. Diversion routes were arranged, with southbound traffic directed to State Road 13 and northbound traffic rerouted to Campus Parkway.
