Fatal Accident on I-65 involving Indianapolis woman

An Indianapolis woman tragically lost her life in a car accident on I-65 in Clark County on Monday evening, as confirmed by Indiana State Police. The incident occurred near mile marker 10.2, just north of the Sellersburg exit, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Authorities from ISP Sellersburg responded to the crash site, where it was found that one of the vehicles involved had a passenger who was ejected during the collision. Initial reports suggest that a grey pickup truck, traveling northbound in the center lane, collided with a blue sedan while attempting to move into the far left lane. This caused both vehicles to spin out of control and come to rest in the median. The pickup truck rolled over and ended up in the southbound fast lane, while the sedan came to rest on the center guardrail. The passenger in the truck, identified as Gloria Jean Jones, 70, from Indianapolis, was ejected and tragically did not survive the crash. The truck's driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized, while the sedan's driver was unharmed and released at the scene. Both northbound and southbound lanes of I-65 were temporarily closed following the accident but have since been reopened.
