Fatal Accident on Hazard Avenue in Enfield
Enfield Police Department is currently looking into an incident that occurred on a Saturday morning, which resulted in a tragic crash involving a pedestrian fatality and damage to a building. A BMW SUV veered off Hazard Avenue, striking a pedestrian and a crosswalk signal before colliding into a building at 80 Hazard Avenue. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital, while the pedestrian, Ms. Kimberly Knowles, unfortunately passed away at Baystate Medical Center. The intersection at Hazard Ave and Middle Road was closed for several hours following the crash, with diverted eastbound traffic onto Freshwater Boulevard. Enfield Police Traffic Division, in partnership with the METRO Traffic Services Regional Traffic Team, is actively investigating the incident.
