Fatal accident on Boynton Beach canal involving 49-year-old man
A tragic incident involving a personal watercraft occurred in Boynton Beach on Sunday evening, resulting in the loss of a man's life, according to police. The Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a call about the accident near the West Gateway Boulevard Bridge in the E-4 canal at approximately 5:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Jeffery Civitano, 49, of Sunrise, in the water while his watercraft was drifting northbound unattended. Initial findings suggest that Civitano collided while driving the watercraft northbound in the canal. Despite efforts by a witness to rescue Civitano before emergency services arrived, Boynton Beach Fire Rescue pronounced him deceased at the scene. The investigation into this tragic incident is currently ongoing.
