Fatal accident involving three vehicles in Georgetown under investigation.
One individual unfortunately lost their life in a car accident involving three vehicles in Georgetown on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred on State Route 1 at 15th Street, with the rear vehicle attempting to overtake the middle vehicle, resulting in a chain reaction collision. The passing vehicle then collided head-on with a northbound vehicle. The passing vehicle had three occupants, while the other two vehicles each had one occupant. The person from the passing vehicle was declared deceased at the scene, while the others involved were taken to a hospital by ambulance. Authorities are currently investigating the crash, led by the sheriff's department and the Vermilion County Coroner's Office. Further details are pending.
