A tragic incident occurred in Yellow Medicine County on Tuesday, as a man lost his life when a skid loader slid into a drainage ditch in rural Clarkfield. The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call around 1:40 p.m. reporting the incident. Unfortunately, when emergency responders arrived, they found the skid loader on its side in the ditch, with the man trapped inside. Dustin Lucius Virkus, 51, of Clarkfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities have not provided further details on the circumstances surrounding the skid loader entering the ditch.
