Fatal accident involving car and school bus in southern Vermont.
One fatality occurred in a collision between a school bus and a sport utility vehicle in southern Vermont. The incident occurred at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, on U.S. Route 7 in Pownal, VT. Vermont State Police were alerted to a two-car crash involving a school bus that did not have students on board at the time. The driver of the SUV, Dana Zazinski, 60, from Pownal, was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. The school bus operator sustained minor injuries and was taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for treatment. The crash resulted from the SUV crossing the center line and colliding with the oncoming bus. Route 7 was closed for several hours during the investigation, which is ongoing.
