Fatal accident in St. Landry Parish: Pedestrian struck by impaired driver
An unidentified pedestrian was tragically killed in a crash in St. Landry Parish last night when a driver, who police suspect was impaired, struck the pedestrian on LA 31 near Pebble Road. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been disclosed, lost their life in the accident. The investigation revealed that the pedestrian was walking in the right lane of LA 31 Southbound when they were hit by Cody Leger, 32, of Arnaudville, who was driving a 2015 Mazda south on LA 31. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, while Leger and a passenger in the Mazda were not harmed. Leger was arrested for impaired driving, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
