Fatal accident in Sanders County involving a woman
In Sanders County on Saturday, March 15, 2025, a fatal single-vehicle accident occurred where a woman lost her life. The Montana Highway Patrol reported that a man and a woman, aged 73 and 72 respectively and both hailing from Trout Creek, were traveling west on MT Highway 200 near mile marker 18 at approximately 8:45 a.m. The male driver was found to be driving too fast given the snowy road conditions, causing him to lose control while attempting a turn. As a result, their Lincoln Town Car veered off the road's right side, collided with the guardrail, and then skidded into a ditch, resulting in a rollover with the car's roof hitting a tree. Tragically, the female passenger passed away on the spot, with her identity yet to be disclosed. The driver was transported to Bonner General Health for treatment of his injuries. Both occupants were reported to have been wearing seatbelts, and neither drugs nor alcohol were determined to be contributing factors in the accident based on MHP's investigation.
