Fatal accident in Rosebud County
A tragic incident occurred on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Rosebud County, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to another in a single-vehicle accident. The crash occurred on I-94 in the eastbound lane near mile marker 113, between Forsyth and Miles City. The Montana Highway Patrol reported that a 22-year-old woman from Regina, Canada, was driving a Kia Sportage when it veered off the left side of the road, rolled after being steered back onto the highway, and landed in the median. The driver, who was unrestrained, tragically passed away at the scene. The passenger, another 22-year-old woman from California City, California, was taken to Rosebud Health Center for undisclosed injuries. It is unclear if she was wearing a seat belt at the time. The MHP is investigating the accident and suspects that drugs might have played a role.
