Fatal accident in Oviedo closes SR-434 at Hammock Lane
A fatal accident in Oviedo resulted in the closure of all lanes of SR 434 at Hammock Lane on Tuesday, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident, involving a 2022 Nissan Altima and a 2018 Jeep Compass, took place at approximately 5:03 a.m. The Nissan was heading east on State Road 434 towards Hammock Lane, while the Jeep was traveling west on the same road. According to FHP, the Nissan driver did not successfully navigate a curve, causing it to stray into the westbound lane and collide head-on with the Jeep. This collision led to the Jeep catching fire. The driver of the Nissan, whose identity hasn't been disclosed, was tragically killed. The Jeep driver sustained severe injuries and was transported to a hospital. The authorities are currently investigating the crash.
