Fatal Accident in Niskayuna Claims Life of Latham Man.
A collision occurred between a car and a motorcycle on Route 7 near Algonquin Road in Niskayuna yesterday evening, resulting in the tragic death of motorcyclist Christopher Reith, 25, from Latham. Reith, who sustained severe injuries from the crash, was pronounced dead after being taken to Ellis Hospital. The driver of the car involved in the incident was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The Niskayuna Police Department is investigating the crash and is urging any witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact Detective Daly at (518) 386-4582. This location had previously been the site where Assemblyman Robert Smullen's son AJ lost his life in a car accident in February 2024. A permanent memorial sign for AJ stands outside Bellevue Women's Center, and a traffic safety memorial law in his honor was recently passed unanimously by both the state assembly and senate.
