Fatal accident in Jackson's residential area
Authorities from the Jackson Police Department and Fire Department are currently looking into a tragic incident at The Park at Inverness apartment complex, involving a fatal crash. The Fire Department was alerted about a vehicle on fire with a person trapped inside around 1:31 p.m. According to reports, the car veered off Ridgewood Road within the complex, crashing into a fence and grazing a parked vehicle before catching fire. Unfortunately, a man's body was discovered in the driver's seat and he was declared deceased at the scene. Identification of the victim is pending. The Jackson Police Department and the Fire Department's Arson Unit are jointly investigating the incident, and anyone with relevant information is urged to reach out to JPD or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
